The Eternal Legions Rise

The twin suns of Amonkhet blazed high in the sky, their heat beating mercilessly upon the golden sands of the plane. Once, this land had been a thriving bastion of life, overseen by gods who demanded perfection in the Trials of the Five. But now, the plane was a shadow of its former self. The Hour of Devastation had long passed, leaving behind only ruins and the ominous silence of the dead.

Deep within the Ruins of the God-Pharaoh, a figure stirred. The Eternal One, an ancient Planeswalker who had long hidden his true intentions, knelt in the golden sand. His once-living flesh had been replaced by the perfected, embalmed body of the Eternals—enduring servants of the God-Pharaoh. His eyes glowed with the cold, blue fire of the necromantic arts, and his scythe hummed with power drawn from the God-Pharaoh’s Gift, an artifact buried deep within the ruins.

He spoke in a whisper, yet his words carried across the still air: "Rise, my legions. The Multiverse will tremble beneath our eternal might."

The sands shifted, revealing long-forgotten burial pits filled with the faithful who had once served Nicol Bolas. Their mummified forms, bound by the magic of the Eternalize ritual, began to stir. Among them was the Champion of Wits, its bandaged hands clutching a broken staff. This creature, once a scholar, now served as a tactician for the Eternal One's army, devising strategies to dominate their foes.

The Eternal One raised his scythe, channeling the latent mana of Amonkhet through its crescent blade. Across the dunes, more creatures clawed their way to the surface. The Avenger of Zendikar, drawn to the chaos, appeared in a towering eruption of plant life, its vines entwining with the undead as a show of allegiance. Even the mighty Scarab God, ruler of the dead on Amonkhet, emerged from the shadows to join this new coalition of the eternal.

Meanwhile, resistance brewed in the distant Selesnya Sanctuary, a haven hidden within the lush oases of Amonkhet. Here, the few living remnants of the plane had gathered, led by a small group of surviving Planeswalkers. Among them was a defiant and resolute leader who had once served the gods of this plane. Her name was Nahket, the Eternal Witness, and she carried the knowledge of the old gods in her heart.

Nahket stood atop a crumbling ziggurat, addressing the survivors. "The Eternal One seeks to enslave us, but we are not alone. The Multiverse has seen tyrants before, and we have risen against them. We will rise again."

Her forces were meager compared to the growing might of the Eternal One. Yet, she wielded the Liliana's Mastery, an artifact capable of animating the dead to fight for her cause. Zombies and mummies, torn between servitude to the Eternal One and freedom under Nahket’s command, began to clash in skirmishes across the sands.

The climax of their battle came at the Pyramids of the Lost Trials, where the final Trial of Ambition had once taken place. The Eternal One’s legions, bolstered by the God-Pharaoh’s Gift, faced Nahket’s rebellion. Creatures like the Eternal of Harsh Truths darted through the battlefield, sowing fear and confusion, while Nahket unleashed the power of the Selesnya Sanctuary, summoning radiant life to counter the darkness.

But as the battle raged, a shocking revelation emerged. The Eternal One's power was not his alone—it was drawn from the remnants of the God-Pharaoh’s influence. As Nahket shattered the God-Pharaoh’s Gift with a burst of mana, the Eternal One faltered. His legions wavered, and for the first time, the light of hope pierced through the dark sands of Amonkhet.

The Eternal One vanished into the desert, his plans in ruins but his resolve unbroken. He would return, stronger and more prepared, for his conquest of the Multiverse had only just begun.

And so, the sands of Amonkhet settled once more, though they would forever bear the scars of this battle. The plane remained a land of mystery and danger, where life and death danced endlessly beneath the unrelenting twin suns.
